A RECENT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM AUTISM SOCIETY:

During the past few days, we have received calls from individuals telling us that they are getting phone calls soliciting money on behalf of an organization which says that the Autism Society is supportive of that organization and implying that funds raised will be provided to the Autism Society.

The Autism Society has not given any permission to any non Autism Society chapter or affiliate agency to raise money on its behalf. Any organization stating we have is not providing truthful information. The Autism Society has issued an immediate cease and desist order to the agency making such calls.

Whenever any organization or fund raising solicitor seeks money over the phone, you should ask how much of the donation goes to fund raising, how much of each donation is kept by the person soliciting funds, and ask if the agency is registered to raise money in the state you live (and ask for their charitable license number). If the person calling doesn’t answer these questions, you should hang the phone and never give money to that agency.

The Central Ohio Chapter of the Autism Society of America does not endorse any specific treatments, therapies or professionals providing those therapies. All information is provided FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. Parents and advocates are responsible for the choice of any treatment, therapy or service provider.
